If your vehicle is being held in our secure storage, please call 0800 222 869 to arrange an appointment before visiting. We operate from two separate storage facilities, each with different yard hours, so bookings are required.

Please note: If you arrive without an appointment, access to your vehicle may be declined.

When attending your appointment, please bring valid photo identification (such as a driver’s licence or passport). Access will only be granted to the registered owner of the vehicle, unless you have written consent from the owner authorising you to access it.

If your vehicle has been towed for parking in an unauthorised or restricted area — for example, private property without consent or in breach of displayed parking conditions — it will be taken to our secure storage facility.

To collect your vehicle, you’ll need to:

• Pay the tow and storage fees in full, and
• Provide valid photo ID.

We are authorised by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency under Section 241 of the Land Transport Act 1998 to access the names and addresses of registered vehicle owners. However, if a person has requested that their details not be disclosed under Section 241(1), we will not have access to their information.

Yes. Towing and Recovery Ltd is authorised to access both Motochek and the PPSR databases.

This access allows us to:

• Verify the registered owner details of vehicles lawfully in our possession
• Confirm ownership details for vehicles towed, stored, or disposed of at the request of the New Zealand Police
  
• Provide verified owner details to debt collection services for lawful recovery of fees
• Send reminder or advisory letters to registered owners
• Notify registered owners of the location of their towed vehicle
• Inform finance companies if their financed vehicle is in our possession
